Lymphatica Leichhardt Clinic Information

Clinic & Appointment Information

Please note that this is a home clinic and does not have a waiting area.

In order to make everyone’s visit to the clinic a good experience, we wanted to share some information which might help.

Cancellations

We understand that things come up from time to time and life gets in the way.  But we just ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you’re not going to make your appointment.  We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, but if you know before you receive your confirmation text, then please let us know earlier.  That way we can offer others on our waiting list your spot.  The sooner we know the better.

Illness

Please please please don’t come in when you’re unwell.  I work with clients with severely compromised immune systems and what feels like just a cold or sniffle to you, could be catastrophic to another person’s health.  Also, spare a thought for your therapist, if we get ill, we can’t work, then everyone loses out.

Timekeeping

Please note that this is a home clinic which means that there isn’t a waiting area.  If you turn up early for your appointment, please wait until the right time before entering, your consideration is much appreciated.  If you’re attending an initial appointment showing up 10 minutes early is perfect, that way I can take your medical history and fill in the relevant forms without eating into your treatment time.  I aim to run on time in the clinic and not keep anyone waiting if I can help it, and I ask that you show the same courtesy.  If you turn up late, then your time might have to be shorter on the table.

Perfumes

Please, where possible refrain from wearing perfume, moisturising creams or oils when you come to your appointment.  Again, we treat clients with very sensitive systems due to treatments they’re undergoing and perfumes can cause nausea or allergic reactions.  Also, it makes working in a small room very uncomfortable for your therapist.  Moisturisers especially  can make it difficult to achieve good contact with your skin for Lymphatic Drainage treatments.

Parking

There is plenty of on street parking available.   The closest bus stop is on Marion Street crossing with Darley Road and the Hawthorn Parade Tram stop is a 2 mins walk.

FAQ's

What should I expect during my first visit?

You will need to fill out a detailed intake form so that I can ensure a safe and effective treatment for you.  For Lymphoedema clients, your initial appointment will need to be 75 minutes, that way I can take your case history and record your measurements before we start your treatment so that we have a baseline of where you’re currently at.

This is a great opportunity for you to tell me your health concerns and goals and what you would like to achieve out of your treatments, and ask me any questions you might have.

Please make sure that you turn up about 5 minutes early for hour long consults to fill in the required paperwork, that way you don’t miss out on time on the table.

Will I have to completely undress?

No, underwear is worn at all times and you should only undress to the level that you are comfortable with. If there are any issues this can be discussed at the time of your treatment.

If you are coming for Lymphatic Drainage I will need to work on the affected areas without restrictions, so please wear very loose comfortable underwear.  There might be times that you have to remove them, but we have options to ensure that your privacy is maintained.

I will leave the room to allow you to undress before your treatment and at the end to allow you to dress in privacy.
