LYMPHOEDEMA MANAGEMENT
Lymphoedema is the name give to areas of chronic swelling in the body. It occurs when an accumulation of protein-rich fluid, known as lymph collects in the tissues, causing localised areas of swelling. It is usually caused by damage or trauma to the lymphatic system which disrupts the body's ability to filter the lymph fluid back into the circulatory system. Lymphoedema can be classed as either secondary or primary.
