I created this technique because I could see there was a gap. On one side, there were traditional lymphatic methods (Vodder and Foeldi) which are gentle, precise, and clinically grounded. On the other, Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage: a more modern approach, dynamic, flowing, and results-focused.
After extensive training in both, combined with 20 years of clinical experience as a bodyworker, it became clear that both had value, but neither told the full story on its own.
So I created a method that bridges the gap.
Functional Lymphatic Drainage blends the science and structure of traditional lymphatic work with the adaptability, flow, and responsiveness of modern techniques.
It's not about rigid routines, and it's not limited to surface-level results. It's about understanding how the lymphatic system truly functions.

20 Years of Clinical Practice
Distilled Into One Programme
My name is Gwen, and I've been working full time as a bodyworker for over 20 years.
During that time, I ran my own busy clinic specialising in remedial massage, manual lymphatic drainage, and lymphoedema management. During Covid I stepped away from private practice to work within a dedicated cancer hospital in Sydney, alongside the Physiotherapy team. Here I gained a deeper understanding of the pathways that bring clients to this work, as well as the language, treatments, surgeries, and clinical considerations involved in cancer care.
Today, I work full time in private practice, specialising exclusively in lymphatic work, including lymphoedema and lipoedema management.
I've completed over 235 hours of dedicated lymphatic and lymphoedema-specific training through the Dr Vodder International School and the Macquarie University ALERT program, alongside further study in multiple styles of lymphatic drainage including Brazilian techniques.
